Who is Atlas Forge for?
Game Masters can use it for a one-shot dungeon, a roadside ambush, a ruined temple, or a recurring campaign location. Start with terrain and obstacles for an outdoor fight, or combine rooms and corridors before furnishing an interior. The map artwork can support D&D and other tabletop RPGs.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to build a map?
You can build before signing in. An account connects cloud maps and finished-map export access. Atlas Forge and GM Toolkit use the same account.
How do I save an editable map?
Download the free .atlasforge Project File from Export Map, then reopen it with Open Project File. The working map also autosaves in your browser. Keep a separate project backup before clearing browser data or starting another map.
Which export formats are available?
Choose JPG for a flattened image, Universal VTT for the map and prepared lighting data, or protected PSD with editable labels, lines, and grid layers. Editable Project Files and GM Toolkit files are also available.
Are exports free?
Editable Project Files and GM Toolkit files are free. Finished JPG, Universal VTT, and PSD exports require sign-in and export access. The credit option unlocks a specific map and size for seven days, including corrections and re-exports during that window. See the app for current access options.
Will VTT walls import automatically?
Universal VTT includes prepared wall and lighting data, but the destination VTT needs a compatible importer. Check Lighting before export and review the result after importing.
